It has been a busy time. I got married! What a complex feeling of happiness, relief, and exhaustion. The day went well. We had a good team, and were working with friends. It was a family reunion. It was all about us. The flowers were amazing. The food was great. I haven't seen them yet but I know the photos are incredible. It was one of the best weekends of my life.
We have lots of adventures ahead. For now, though, we're just working on resetting back to normal. (But I did find time to find myself at the peak of a different mountain back home.)
The wind was persistent here. It was bright and cold. Off the edge of the peak, I tracked soaring crows through my binoculars. I thought that was funny—crows. I was expecting vultures or something, but sure enough that's what those black birds were.
I was surprised by the lack of lichen. They'll grow almost anywhere, but I suppose underneath the boots of passing hikers is beyond even them. Only sporadic patches were present.
